Why Take My Class?

THE WOW FACTOR

·      The 16^th amendment allows the federal government to take an enormous amount of money from states and use it to coerce states to capitulate and meet demands of federal government.

·      In 1950, 5% of jobs required license.

·      Now, 25% of jobs require a license.

·      James Madison said “The misuse of power is the very essence of tyranny” (Federal Convention of 1787)

·      In 1966 Marion G. Romney said, “today’s U.S. government is a welfare state.”

·      President McKay wrote that the “welfare state is where people look to and worship government more than their God.”

·      Elder Oaks stated in April of 2004, “Evil that used to be localized and covered like a boil is now legalized and paraded like a banner.  The most fundamental roots and bulwarks of civilization are questioned or attacked.  Nations disavow their religious heritage.  Marriage and family responsibilities are discarded as impediments to personal indulgence.”

·      Mike Lee said at a recent Town Hall, “Think of government as a hired thug you need as a bodyguard.  You want muscle and fire power perhaps.  But, as good as he may be at bodyguarding, you probably don’t want him to do open heart surgery, or the raising and teaching of your children, or the management of your finances, or to tell you that 3 servings of leafy greens is necessary for a healthy life.”

·      Apathy & ignorance are the biggest risks to our Constitution.

THE REALITY

Our generation, and a few before ours, has learned to use government as a weapon.  Americans expect government to

·      manage our finances,

·      decide if we are worthy of open heart surgery,

·      to raise and teach our children,

·      and to tell us how many servings of leafy greens is necessary for a healthy life. 

SHOW WHAT THEY DON’T KNOW

What many of us don’t know is that the

·      Federal Government only has 26 powers!

·      That governors/sheriffs can tell the federal government NO when they operate outside those 26 powers

·      That the president is not authorized to tell citizens what shots to take

GAIN THEIR INTEREST

·      There is a concerted & intentional effort to NOT teach the US Constitution in public schools and higher education, including law school. 

·      When we don’t understand what absolute tyranny (as defined in the Declaration of Independence) looks like, how can we recognize it in order to resist it?

·      If we don’t understand what the supreme law of the land says, then how do we know when it is trampled?

I intend to teach you enough about the US Constitution that you will not think of it as overwhelming and difficult to understand, leave this class inspired to teach your family and to make learning it a priority in home school, just like math and reading is a priority.
